Census Takers - Not Quite Work From Home

Published by cindy23 at 7:02 am under Business, Working From Home Edit This

The US Census Bureau is posting their Census Takers positions as “Work From Home, ” although it is more or less “work close to home.” Some of the work I assume you would be doing from home. I suppose it would be a decent job temporary job if you are out of work , but if you have children you need to find a sitter. The Census will not be taken until 2010, and it does not give much information about when training is, how much pay is offered etc. It does say pay is competitive and attractive, you must have a valid drivers license, a vehicle (in some cases public transportation will be allowed,  speak good English (bilingual skills will be needed in some areas),  and the hours are flexible.

It will be interesting with the lack of jobs today how many people will apply for these jobs in case they do not find something down the road. If you enjoy people, this could be a great job. However, it is temporary and it would be hard to commit if you need to look for full-time work. At first I thought they were going after retirees and college students, but they have a section saying this would be great for full-time employees too.

Another great blog, cindy. I think that there will be a lot of people who try to get census taking jobs too. It sounds like a good idea to make some quick money. I didn’t realize that you could do it full-time too.
